105,084 BTC 105,085 BTC as of 2021-06-21

The Jun 21, 2021 purchase-history row showed total holdings of 105,084 BTC, the figure Strategy’s purchase page lists. No filing or Strategy announcement states 105,084. Strategy’s press release of June 21, 2021 states “As of June 21, 2021, MicroStrategy holds an aggregate of approximately 105,085 bitcoins”, the same as-of date as the row, and the 10-Q filed July 29, 2021 also states 105,085, held at June 30, 2021. The row now shows 105,085 as of Jun 21, 2021 and cites the press release, labelled “Issuer announcement — not filed”. No 8-K was filed for this purchase: SEC staff said so in a comment letter of Oct 7, 2021, and Strategy’s reply of Oct 22, 2021 describes the purchase of approximately 13,005 bitcoins in June 2021. The row had linked that 10-Q, which states neither the 13,005 BTC nor a June 21 total, under an “8-K” label. In the quarterly table, Q2 2021 quarter-end holdings change from 105,084 to 105,085 and the Q3 2021 gain from 8,958 to 8,957 BTC, the figure the 8-K filed Sep 13, 2021 states for that quarter to date; the growth rates computed from them move by less than 0.01 percentage points.

The Feb 19, 2021 purchase-history row showed a cost of $1,023 million for its 19,452 BTC, the figure Strategy’s purchase page lists. No filing or Strategy announcement states it. Strategy’s press release of February 24, 2021 states approximately 19,452 bitcoins bought “for approximately $1.026 billion in cash at an average price of approximately $52,765 per bitcoin” and approximately 90,531 held “As of February 24, 2021”; SEC staff’s comment letter of Oct 7, 2021 and Strategy’s reply of Oct 22, 2021 also give $1.026 billion. The row now shows $1,026 million and holdings as of Feb 24, 2021, and cites the press release, labelled “Issuer announcement — not filed” (the same SEC letter notes that no 8-K was filed for this purchase). Strategy’s page lists the purchase on Feb 19, 2021 and links the 8-K filed that day, which reports the closing of the convertible notes offering whose proceeds funded it and states none of these figures; the row’s note says so. Its chart point moves from Feb 19, 2021 (“as listed”) to Feb 24, 2021 (“as of”). In the quarterly table, Q1 2021’s average purchase price changes from $51,927.50 to $52,071.35.

The Apr 29, 2024 purchase-history row showed +155 BTC bought for $10.0 million at $63,397, the figures Strategy’s purchase page lists. No filing or Strategy announcement states them. The 8-K filed that day (the first-quarter 2024 earnings release, Exhibit 99.1) states 214,400 BTC held as of April 26, 2024 and no purchase amount for the row. The 10-Q filed May 1, 2024 states approximately 122 BTC bought from March 31 through April 26, 2024 for $7.8 million (about $63,548 each), a different window from this row’s, so it is not substituted. The row now shows no BTC acquired, cost or average price, keeps the 214,400 total, now as of Apr 26, 2024, and cites the 8-K on SEC EDGAR. With no stated amount, the row also leaves the Bitcoin Treasury Tracker’s disclosed-purchase list. Two figures computed from stated purchases change: Q2 2024’s average purchase price in the quarterly table, from $65,861.33 to $65,878.80, and the lifetime monthly average, from 11,554 to 11,552 BTC a month.

The Dec 21, 2020 purchase-history row carried a running average purchase price of $15,698.498 in the page’s data (served in the page’s HTML; not displayed). Strategy’s press release of December 21, 2020, the row’s only source, states that the approximately 70,470 bitcoins held as of that day were acquired “at an aggregate purchase price of approximately $1.125 billion and an average purchase price of approximately $15,964 per bitcoin”. The row now carries $15,964. The row also linked that release under an “8-K” label; no 8-K was filed for this purchase (EDGAR lists no Strategy filing from December 14 to December 29, 2020), so it is now labelled “Issuer announcement — not filed” and shows holdings as of Dec 21, 2020, as the release states. Its displayed figures (29,646 BTC for $650.0 million at $21,925; 70,470 held) are unchanged and match the release.

Until Oct 16, 2026 the tool’s JSON export gave eight older purchase-history rows a filingDate equal to the date Strategy’s purchase page lists for them; #442 then withdrew it. Checked against SEC EDGAR, five of the eight have a filing on the listed date that states the row’s holdings total, and now carry that filing date: Aug 1, 2023 (152,800 BTC; 10-Q 0000950170-23-036448), Nov 1, 2023 (158,400; 10-Q 0000950170-23-057418), Feb 6, 2024 (190,000; 8-K 0000950170-24-011709), Apr 29, 2024 (214,400; 8-K 0000950170-24-049829) and Aug 1, 2024 (226,500; 8-K 0000950170-24-089243). No SEC filing states the other three rows’ figures, so they carry no filing date and are noted as listed by Strategy: Dec 21, 2020 (29,646 BTC; 70,470 held); Feb 19, 2021 (19,452; 90,531), whose listed date matches the 8-K Strategy’s page cites (0001193125-21-048555), which announces the closing of a notes offering and does not state these figures; and Jun 21, 2021 (13,005; 105,084), for which the cited 10-Q of Jul 29, 2021 states 105,085 held at Jun 30. For the five rows with a filing, Strategy’s listed date matches the EDGAR filing date exactly. The other three (Dec 21, 2020; Feb 19, 2021; Jun 21, 2021) have no SEC filing that states their figures, so they have no filing date to compare.

The entry now shows the filing’s own figures — approximately 8,957 BTC for approximately $419.9 million at approximately $46,875, during the period July 1 – September 12, 2021 — marked as including the Aug 24 entry, so totals count that window once. Holdings of approximately 114,042 BTC as of September 12, 2021 are unchanged.

The Dec 28, 2022 purchase-history entry showed one +2,501 BTC purchase for $44.6 million at $17,847, netting transactions the cited 8-K states separately. The 8-K reports approximately 2,395 BTC acquired during the period November 1 – December 21, 2022 (approximately $42.8 million at $17,871), approximately 704 BTC sold on December 22, 2022 (cash proceeds of approximately $11.8 million at $16,776), and approximately 810 BTC acquired on December 24, 2022 (approximately $13.6 million at $16,845). The history now lists those three transactions, the sale as a sale. Holdings of approximately 132,500 BTC are unchanged; their as-of date is corrected to December 27, 2022, as the filing states (previously recorded as December 21). Figures the tool derives from the history move with it: lifetime gross BTC purchased rises by 704 (the sale is no longer netted out of a purchase), lifting the lifetime monthly pace by about 10 BTC a month, and the 2022 Q4 average purchase price changes from $17,833 to $17,598.
